Antici………..pation

They say that patience is a virtue, and they are probably right. What they don’t say is that exercising patience can be a royal pain in the rear.

Let’s take an example.

Yesterday, the Nokia N800 internet tablet I ordered last week was delivered to our door. This neat little device (which runs on Linux and total awesomeness) is to be my Christmas present. Because of this fact, the Misses has gotten all technical on me and insisted on wrapping it and putting it under the tree until Christmas.

Now I don’t have a calendar in front of me right now, but I’m pretty sure that there’s at least a bajillion days from now until Christmas. That’s a long time to wait for anything, but it’s an especially long time to wait for something as totally wicked as the N800.

Nevertheless, I will bear this hardship in true Southern stoic fashion. And by that I mean I’ll spend the intervening days asking the Misses if Amazon has shipped her Kindle yet.
