If you’re a phobophobic, that is…

I just discovered that Merriam-Webster’s website has top ten lists.  The one that was featured when I went there recently was Top Ten Unusual Phobias.  While some of them don’t sound all that unusual (fear of snakes or thunder), others are downright weird.  Doraphobia, for example, is the fear of touching the skin or fur of an animal.  The fear of failure doesn’t strike me as all that exotic, but it does have the coolest name on the list – Kakorrhaphiophobia.

The most interesting one to me though was Phobophobia.  This is the fear of acquiring a phobia.  It’s so recursive.  What does a phobophobic do if someone points out to them that their fear of phobia is actually a phobia itself?  Would they react like a ophidiophobic constantly surrounded by snakes?
