Earlier this summer, Mitt Romney was taking the position that President Obama was a nice guy who was just in over his head. I don’t think I’ve heard him make that claim recently, and I can’t say that I’m surprised.
An Obama-friendly super PAC named “Priorities USA Action” just released the following ad which basically implicates Romney in a woman’s death from cancer. Check it out if you haven’t already seen it.
Now the President’s campaign is doing the usual song and dance about not knowing anything about the ad since it is from an outside group. Their claims of ignorance of Mr. Soptic’s story are dubious at best, but that is beside the point.
The President could easily condemn the ad as being beyond the pale, especially since it is from an outside group. That’s what a nice guy would do. It’s what an honorable man would do. I’m certain it’s what McCain would have done had someone ran something as scurrilous as this attacking candidate Obama during the 2008 race.
Yet the President does not.
I’m sure you can do the math.
