When I was in the third grade, my brother and I transferred to a new school. Our mother dropped us off on the first day, but we had to catch the bus that afternoon to get home. Since we were a couple of dumb, nervous kids, we became convinced that we had gotten on the wrong bus. I remember being pretty panicked and convinced that we would never make it home. Fortunately for us, our fears were completely groundless, and the worst that we faced was some mocking from the other kids. Jaeyana Beuraheng wasn’t so lucky. The Thai woman went on a shopping trip to Malaysia 25 years ago, but got on the wrong bus when she tried to go home. She has only recently been reunited with her family.
